Resolutions….

Somehow the end of a year seems to be a fitting time to resolve to add, let go or change something from your life. To take the beginning of a new year as the beginning of something new for you.

In my experience and I’m sure in your’s too, we forget about these resolutions pretty soon. Life takes over and we fall into the same old habit patterns till the year end rolls in and we are at the same place where we started. So how does one stick to these resolutions and make the changes that we so deeply desire?

The first step is finding out the WHY? Why is that change so important for you. How is it going to impact your life? What results or benefits are you hoping to get with that change?

The second step is to begin with the end in mind. Envision the result completely. Be in the space of already having achieved it. Experience the achievement and operate from that mindset.

Then identify the concrete and tangible steps you can take to move closer to the goal you seek. Break these into very small, doable changes, steps that don’t overwhelm you and are super easy!! this will set the ball in motion.

A very important element for progress is having an accountability partner. Someone who will hold a non-judgmental space for you to grow. Who is on your side and is always cheering you on. Someone who if needed will lovingly hold up a mirror and ask you to be honest with yourself. Who will help you look at every limiting belief that is holding you back, every story that you are telling yourself and every excuse you come up with. On the other side of dropping these limiting beliefs is freedom and clarity.

I know it seems hard, like a lot of work and you are not sure if you have the motivation, but my dear dear friend remember it is YOUR LIFE and your CHOICE to add meaning, purpose and energy into your days. And you can do it!
